Through user interaction, this installation will change once it identifies movement. The Kinect software will instantaneously detect when light beams are broken, for example someone putting their hand between the projection on the wall and the Kinect, therefore creating a reaction. The reaction works based on a time-line created in Edge Animate where there are 'start' and 'stop' actions, essentially telling the tree start the next stage of the process when the tree has been interacted with.
The aim of this installation is to educate young children to interact with new surroundings in a fun way. It could be projected into children's wards in hospitals. Children would be able to interact with the installation, possibly as a coping mechanism - helping them to take their mind away from the hospital.
